Belen Mozo

Belen Mozo is a Spanish golfer. Belen Mozo competes on the Ladies European Tour and LPGA Tour and had success as an amateur. Mozo won the 2006 British Ladies Amateur Golf Championship as an amateur.

Mozo also had the chance to compete for Spain in the European Girls Team Championship in 2003, the PIMG Junior Solheim Cup Team in 2005, and the European Ladies Team Championships.

Childhood, Parents, and Education

Belen Mozo was born on September 25, 1988, in Cadiz, a city in Spain to Jesus Mozo and Isabel Mozo.

She shared her upbringing with an older brother named Jesus Mozo Jr.

However, there is currently no information accessible regarding the family of the golfer’s whereabouts or profession.

Belen, on the other hand, was only 8 years old when she held a golf club for the first time.

The native of Cadiz became obsessed with the sport at that point on.

Mozo’s parents, especially her mother, pushed the budding golfer to practice her swing and play more frequently.

The Mozo brothers and sisters both picked up the sport in a nine-hole facility in El Puerto de Santa Maria.

On the other hand, the length of training was shortened after visiting Ortega y Gasset Institute.

Belen nevertheless occasionally played golf and practiced on the weekends.

Similar to this, the Spaniard represented Europe as a young golfer at age 14 and won the AJGA Thunderbird Invitational.

Mozo also traveled to California (U.S.) after finishing high school and enrolled in the University of Southern California.

The Spaniard would also have the chance to play golf for the USC Trojans while he was a student there.

Belen’s time playing college golf benefited her in turning pro and earning a spot on the LPGA Tour in 2011.

The encounters served as stepping stones in Mozo’s life that enabled her to develop a more positive character.

Net Worth & Earnings

Belen Mozo amassed a startling net worth of $500K over the years, according to reports.

Although the exacts of her pay are unknown, it can be assumed that the payment itself would make the Spaniard’s wallet deeper.

Accordingly, LPGA.com reported that Belen had a career income of $902,602.

On the other hand, Suzann Peterson and Garbine Muguruza, two other golfers, have net worths of $15 million and $12 million, respectively. Since golf is a sport, the amount is enormous.

Again, there is little doubt that Mozo, a Spanish-born athlete, will begin making significant sums of money in the upcoming years given her beauty and skill in the sport.

Belen further earned $2,610 in 2015, $92,377 in 2016, $76,26 in 2017, and $67,935 in 2018.

Additionally, the amount a golfer receives is based on the purse percentage for each tournament they compete in and finish within the allotted budget.

Despite this, the Spaniard once collaborated with Adidas to produce a range of sports shoes using recycled plastic bottles.

Nevertheless, Mozo makes time out of her hectic schedule to go to other places, regardless of the money she makes.

She specifically picks places that have beaches or a reputation for partying.

Belen’s other possessions and assets have not yet been made public, which is unfortunate.

The section will be updated as new details become available.

Professional Career

In addition to winning the AJGA Thunderbird Invitational and the Doral-Publix Junior Classic, Belen competed at the Junior Ryder Cup.

Following that, the Spanish beauty was named the best in the country among amateurs.

Mozo also had the chance to compete for Spain in the European Girls Team Championship in 2003, the PIMG Junior Solheim Cup Team in 2005, and the European Ladies Team Championships.

The Spanish golfer, though, was still hankering for more. Belen finished first in the 2005 Junior International Championship, and the following year he was crowned champion.

The award was given to the 2006 British Amateur Ladies’ and Girls’ Champions.

Mozo is the only athlete to win both championships in the same year since 1972, which is another bonus.

The Spaniard also got All-American awards from the NGCA and mentions at the 2007 NCAA Championships due to his astonishing progress.

Belen then achieved the top spot five times in a total of 11 tournaments, finishing the 2007/2008 season in the 18th position. The Spanish golfer also finished the first six times for the USC Trojans.

Mozo also participated in the 2008 World Amateur Team Championships and European Women’s Team Championships, where she finished in second place.

The Spanish golfer competed in nine US Women’s Amateur competitions during the same season.

Likewise, Belen was ranked 20th among amateur golfers after finishing in the top six on three different occasions.

Eventually, the Spanish sensation was ready to move up to the LPGA, a bigger stage. Her first-ever professional experience in 2010 earned her a Priority List Category 11 and an eighth-place finish.

Similar to this, Mozo took part in 21 major competitions, made 17 cuts, earned $143,094, and finished the 2013 LPGA Tour season in 12th place for longest driving distance.

Retirement & Injury

According to a public announcement made in July 2019, Belen is prepared to leave the LPGA Tour and competitive golf.

For instance, her career was tragically ended due to the discomfort in her wounded hips that persisted despite her futile efforts to win the war.

The Spanish golfer actually had a tensor fasciae latae tear, which reportedly persisted despite numerous treatments. She continued, in a sorrowful way, to describe her unhappiness with the entire process.

Belen found consolation in the knowledge that there is a world outside of golf and that she would want to explore it, even though her mind could no longer handle it.

Mozo is simultaneously happy that she had a fulfilling junior and professional career that she may treasure for the rest of her life.

Relationships and Personal Life

Belen Mozo is no longer available because she is blissfully wed to tennis player Robert Farsh.

Farsh is an expert in doubles. He has won two grand slam championships and teams up with Juan Sebastián Cabal to play doubles.

Additionally, Belen and Robert have been dating ever since their time at USC. The fact that the Columbian and Belen share a love of sports makes it pretty clear how the Columbian won Belen over.

Additionally, the couple wed on December 5, 2020, in the midst of the COVID-19 epidemic, with their adorable two canines Taco and Roma serving as their wedding guests.

Being professional sportsmen, these two loved ones are a match made in heaven since they are immensely supportive of one another despite each other’s hectic schedules.
