Andre Gomes has represented a number of clubs in Spain, Portugal, and the United Kingdom. He also plays for the Portuguese national team on a regular basis. He has a total of 37 caps for the national team.
At the age of 18, Gomes joined Benfica. He began his career on the young squad before moving on to the B team.
On the other hand, he made his first-team debut on October 18, 2012, in a match against Freamunde.
Gomes’ ascension continued, and he became a regular starter for the team.
Andre’s most important contribution to the squad was on April 16, 2014, when he scored in the second leg of the Portuguese Cup, advancing his team to reach the finals.
Benfica then won the Portuguese Cup, completing the historic treble (league, cup, and Taca da Liga). Gomes appeared in 31 games for Benfica and scored eight goals.
Valencia (2014–2016)
Gomes’ next stop would be Valencia in Spain, where he inked a one-year loan agreement with the top-flight team.

Gomes made 33 appearances and scored four goals in his first season with Valencia. He then signed a long-term contract with Valencia, which will keep him at the club until June 30, 2020.
