Anansa Sims is the girlfriend of former NBA player Matt Barnes, who played fourteen seasons in the league from 2002 to 2017. Anansa, on the other hand, is much more than Matt’s girlfriend. She is a self-sufficient woman with various talents.

After breaking up with Potter, she began dating Danny, who is fifteen years her senior.
Her mother, Beverley, was the first black American model to appear on the cover of the prestigious American fashion magazine Vogue.
Her father was a music producer and publisher who collaborated with many prominent artists of the 1960s and 1970s, despite being less well-known than his wife.
He is well recognized for signing contracts and cooperating with Bob Marley, the well-known Jamaican Rastafarian singer.
Unfortunately, Anansa’s parents divorced just a few months after she was born.
Anansa has always wanted to be in the entertainment industry because both of her parents were in it.
Her mother, on the other hand, was initially opposed to her daughter’s desire to pursue a career in modeling.
As a result, Anansa had to concentrate on her education as well.
However, when her daughter was in her senior year of high school, Beverley reversed her previous choice and permitted her daughter to pursue modeling.
Anansa went to college after graduating from high school to make her mother proud.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the State University of New York (SUNY).

Girlfriend of Matt Barnes | Career
Anansa began her modeling career at the age of seventeen.
However, she had difficulties in her early days due to her weight, and she lost numerous projects along the way.
As a result, she devised diet regimens and closely adhered to them in order to appear “fit” to various modeling and advertising agencies.
She used to go days without eating and go to the gym on a regular basis to lose weight, which was often taxing.
Despite losing a significant amount of body fat through severe dieting, she became frail.
But, when she went to an ad agency in New York, they turned her down, claiming she needed to shed some more weight.
That, of course, irritated her, and she went back to her studies.
She began working as a financial consultant in an Atlanta real estate firm after obtaining her Master’s degree.

Sims had almost given up on her ambitions of becoming a model, but luckily, she found about a modeling agency in Los Angeles called Wilhemina Models.
She went there for the audition, and they hired her right away.
She subsequently began appearing for several popular magazines and calendars, quickly becoming one of the most sought-after plus-sized models.
Sims has already modeled for magazines such as Essence and Glamour US.
She also owns her own plus-size clothing company, primarily selling swimsuits and jeans.
She has recently achieved the status of a television personality.
She has now appeared on a number of notable shows, including Beverley’s Full House (2012) and America’s Next Top Model (2003).

Matt, who is originally from California, attended Del Campo High School in Fair Oaks, where he honed his basketball abilities and advanced as a talented small forward.
He then played for the UCLA Bruins in college.
Despite having strong stats near the end of his college career, Matt had problems breaking into the NBA.
In the second round of the 2002 NBA draft, he was selected by the Memphis Grizzlies.
Prior to his marriage to Anansa, Matt was married to Gloria Govan, an American model, and entrepreneur.
Their romance, however, did not last long because the two regularly quarreled and fought.
Matt was even arrested in 2010 for domestic abuse towards Gloria.
He had married her in 2011, swearing never to harm her, but they divorced again in 2014, alleging irreconcilable differences.
He and Gloria have twin sons. She is currently married to Derek Fisher, a former teammate.
Matt presently works as a Sports Analyst for ESPN.

Matt Barnes’s relationship
Since 2017, Anansa Sims has been in a relationship with former NBA player Matt Barnes.
They did not, however, begin their relationship immediately after the meeting.
They have known one other for many years.
Sims temporarily attended UCLA before transferring to SUNY in Buffalo, New York, to continue her study.
She first met Matt in Los Angeles while he was playing basketball for the UCLA Bruins.
But then time and fate moved them to other locations.
Matt had a terrific NBA career and married someone else while Sims pursued modeling and a real estate firm.

Brief Dissolution and Subsequent Reconciliation
Everything between Anansa and her fiancee, Matt, was going swimmingly until Anansa startled her admirers in 2020 via her social media profile.
In February of that year, she abruptly announced herself single in her Instagram bio.
Their admirers, who were joyful for them, were disappointed to learn what had been revealed and wanted to know why.
Matt stepped forward and accused Sims of deliberately keeping his son away from him.
She responded that Barnes grew arrogant and obsessive, and as a result, he began to harass her in any way he could.
He hounded her on social media even after she moved away from him because she couldn’t stand him.
For about two months, the two continued their cross-claims with no sign of reconciliation until they appeared together on the occasion of Easter in April.
During the same event, Matt apologized to their supporters via Instagram for his toxicity and swore never to do so again.
Similarly, he apologized to his ex-wife, Gloria, for mistreating her and wished her well.
Anansa, too, quickly forgave her partner and subsequently stated that her love for Matt grew even stronger when they reconnected after two months apart.
Matt and I are co-parenting
Apart from their only kid together, Matt and Anansa had children from previous relationships.
Anansa obtained custody of her three children after divorcing her former husband, and they, too, live with their mother and stepfather.
Matt’s twin sons also live with them, and they have now become part of a large family of eight individuals.
The couple frequently expresses how much they enjoy co-parenting their children.
They’re not even lying when they say it’s fun to live with such a huge family.
