More than three years after Daniel Philbin’s death, his ex-wife, Judy Philbin, made news when she publicly attacked her ex-father-in-law and his then-wife Joy, claiming Regis abandoned his children from his first marriage.
In an interview with Radar Online, Judy stated, “What Joy and he did to those two youngsters because they were not her children was heinous!” They didn’t want to be responsible for a disabled child, so they placed Danny in a facility for mentally challenged children!”
Judy went on to suggest that Regis Philbin was the catalyst for Amy’s lengthy battle with drug addiction.
Amy was so addicted to narcotics that she was on the verge of death in 2006.
Judy went on to say that this was the time when Regis Philbin finally came to her aid.
He relocated here from a high-crime area of Los Angeles to a two-story home in a good neighborhood.
