After reading the letter, Jeanie was taken aback and acknowledged that she wasn’t sure whether to believe Lee or not, owing to the fact that she had previously observed so many random persons pretend to be her father’s long-lost child.

Lee Buss, the first child of Dr. Jerry Buss and JoAnn Mueller, was born in 1953.
Her parents didn’t have the time, money, or resources to raise her in the way they thought she deserved, according to her adoption documents.
Jerry didn’t own the Lakers yet in 1953, and he knew he’d struggle to raise his child.
Buss didn’t want his first child to experience the same upbringing he did.

When Jeanie told the rest of the Buss siblings about Lee’s letter and paperwork,
they were all horrified to learn about their long-lost sibling.
Only Jeanie had an idea about Lee, while the rest of the group didn’t.
Lee’s only desire was to see her mother, who was also nearing the end of her life due to a long-term illness.
Lee demanded nothing in exchange from the Buss family.
Despite Lee’s good intentions, the Buss siblings were taken aback, not just by Lee’s approach,
but also by the fact that their parents had never introduced or mentioned their oldest sibling to them.

The long-forgotten child
Lee, on the other hand, admitted that she knew nothing about the Buss family or how to find them.
She discovered she was adopted in third grade when her instructor informed her peers of her circumstances.
Lee was sad for a long time, but she stated that she was always interested in her mother and whether she ever thought of Lee.
The eldest child acknowledged taking a DNA test to connect with the Buss family.
“… In 2017, I saw a television commercial that said, “Give a present to an ancestor,”
and I thought, “Oh, should I do that?” So I got the kit, spit, shipped it, and prayed. All I truly wanted to do was meet my mum “Lee stated.
“My mother said, “In my mind, I named her Marie,” which remained with me because my middle name is Marie,
as is my sister’s. I had a feeling this was real. Marie’s name was Marie “Jeanie said.
Lee finally met her mother a few days before she died.
The oldest child also met Jeanie and learned more about the Buss family.
She said that being given up for adoption had devastated her, but she eventually forgave her parents since, after all, family is the most important thing in the world.
