Pelicans Vs Hornets

The New Orleans Pelicans played the Charlotte Hornets in a regular-season meeting at Spectrum Center in Charlotte.

The game involved more than just a confrontation between two conferences.

The Hornets are from the Eastern Conference, whereas the Pelicans are from the Western Conference.

However, there was also a conflict between the two Ball brothers.

In addition, six Pelicans players scored in double figures.

Following that, the Hornets found their stride, grabbing a two-point lead with 4:43 remaining in the quarter.

Rozier’s three-pointer extended the advantage. On Caleb’s pass, he hits another three-pointer.

With 3:36 remaining in the second quarter, the Hornets led by nine points.

They didn’t stop there, as Lamelo drove into the basket for a layup, giving them 11 points.

Finally, Naji Marshall scored for the Pelicans, but LaMelo responded with a layup to keep the lead.

They were at 51-60 with a minute left in the half and the Hornets leading.

As the shot time expired, PJ Washington made a three-pointer to cut the margin in half.

Terry almost gives the Pelicans another chance to trim the advantage, but Biyombo blocks Bledsoe, making up for his mistake.

He also scored a three-pointer with 3.7 seconds left in the quarter to bring the game to a close.

The Pelicans worked hard to win.

The Pelicans were behind by six points entering the fourth quarter and were desperate for baskets.

They did it after a minute and a half, scoring the first bucket of the quarter.

With his first bucket of the night, Wes Iwnundu opened the quarter.

Soon after, James Johnson made a three-pointer as the shot clock expired, cutting the margin to two points.

After around six minutes of play in the fourth, the Pelicans took the lead for the first time in the half.

Lonzo Ball then made a three-pointer to make the score 104-100 halfway through the fourth quarter.

The Hornets were now trailing the Pelicans until LaMelo’s alley-oop to PJ knotted the game 105-105 with around three minutes remaining.

Both teams continued to score back and forth, until Hayes scored on Lonzo’s pass, giving the Pelicans a two-point advantage.

With 10.5 seconds remaining in the quarter, the Pelicans built a five-point lead.

Terry hit a three-pointer in the final seconds of the game, but it was too late as the Pelicans won 112-107.

For the second time this season, LaMelo Ball and Lonzo Ball squared off.

LaMelo outscored Lonzo and won the first match, but things were different this time.

In this game, LaMelo Ball outscored his older brother Lonzo Ball by 22 points, 4 rebounds, and 5 assists, while Lonzo provided 12 points, 3 rebounds, and 6 assists.

However, Lonzo took the final victory as the Pelicans overcame the Hornets.

The Brothers fought each other like they did when they were kids.

After his older brother Lonzo grabbed a rebound, LaMelo attempted to swipe the ball.

He dived to steal the ball from Lonzo but was called for a foul.

They didn’t guard each other for the majority of the game, but they did everything they could for their side.

Both of them made crucial plays to keep their teams in the game.

Rozier’s career-high points and the Pelicans’ double-digit scoring

Terry Rozier of the Hornets provided another highlight of the game with his career-high 43 points, 4 assists, and 5 rebounds.

In 42 minutes, he scored 43 points on 16-of-36 shooting, including seven 3-pointers.

Aside from Terry, PJ Washington had a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds, as well as 2 assists.

Cody Zeller led Charlotte’s bench with 17 points and eight rebounds.

In the absence of Zion Williamson, who is out indefinitely due to injury, Bledsoe performed admirably for the team.

“We persisted – we persisted,” said Pelicans coach Stan Van Gundy.

The difference in the game, according to Rozier, was the Pelicans’ defense in the second half.

“They just increased their pressure, they were keying in on me, every time I came off a down screen or a ball screen, they were up on me,” Rozier explained.

“That’s who I’m going to see for the rest of the season and the play-in.”

Hayes scored New Orleans’ final four points to secure the victory, and the second-year player continues to contribute to the squad.

“One thing about Jax is that he may foul a little bit, but he never gives up on a play,” said Bledsoe. “He has a lot of energy.”

“He’s starting to string together good games,” Van Gundy remarked.

“You got to give Hayes a ton of credit, that’s a shot blocker for you,” Hornets coach James Borrego said.

He dominated the fourth quarter with his presence, blocked shots, and influence on a lot of our stuff in the paint.”
