Alex Albon’s Professional Career

As the saying goes, there is no age to begin learning.

Albon, on the other hand, began competing in local Kart race championships at the age of eight.

To add to the surprise, he won the local Hoddesdon Championship when he was only eight years old in 2005.

Albon competed in a number of national-level tournaments as a cadet.

He took first place in the Kartmasters British Grand Prix.

He also competed in the Super 1 National Honda Cadet Championship in 2006 and 2007, finishing first and second.

In 2018, he finished first once more.

Alex had transferred to the KF3 class by 2008 and remained there until 2010.

During that period, he won numerous Kart Championships, including the Kartmasters British Grand Prix, the Formula Kart Stars Championship, the KF Winter Series, the CIK-FIA World Cup, and many more.

Later, in 2011, he was promoted to KF1 and finished second in the WSK Euro Series and second in the CIK-FIA World Championship.

In 2012, the youngster who began racing in his early teens advanced to the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup competition.

DAMS, a French auto racing team, recruited Albon to join Nicholas Latifi for the 2018 season.

This was a huge break for the racer, and he was now considered a full-time driver.

Albon started the feature race in fourth place and finished the sprint in 13th place in Bahrain.

He won his first Formula 2 race in the next round at Baku, where he started from pole position.

In the sprint race, though, he came in 13th place.

He started from pole position again at the Spain round but finished fifth in the feature race and second in the sprint race behind Jack Aitken.

In addition, at the Monaco round, he collided with Nyck de Vries in the feature race and then with Campos’ Roy Nissany in the sprint race.

For the Thai driver, it was a round to forget.

Albon did, however, win the feature race at Silverstone.

Later, he won the sprint race at the Hungaroring twice. He also won the main event in Sochi.

Despite strong efforts, his title ambitions were dashed when he finished 14th in the feature race and 8th in the sprint event.

He finished third in the drivers’ championship, barely behind George Russell and Lando Norris.

The Formula E

Albon has been signed with Nissan e Dams for the 2018-2019 Formula E season.

Alex, on the other hand, was released from his contract before the season ever began.

Nonetheless, it was for his benefit as he was released to drive for Torro Rosso in the Formula One (F1) season.

Formula 1

Alex Albon became only the second Thai driver to compete in Formula One when he signed with Torro Rosso for the 2019 season.

Along with Daniil Kvyat, he joined the team. He finished tenth in the Bahrain Grand Prix, earning his first points.

Following that, he finished eighth in China and was named Driver of the Day.

He earned another point after finishing eighth in the Monaco round.

Meanwhile, Albon did not finish within the points three times in a row at the Canada Grand Prix.

The previous dismal results were overshadowed by an excellent performance at the 2019 German Grand Prix.

Alex came in sixth place in a rain-soaked race. He finished tenth in the following race in Hungary.

Albon joined Red Bull in 2019 to replace Pierre Gasly.

Similarly, Albon qualified tenth in the Italian Grand Prix, four places behind teammate Max Verstappen.
