She promptly joined up with her father and drove for his organization, John Force Racing, in a Mustang Top Fuel Funny Car sponsored by Castrol in 2007.
Not only that, but the father-daughter team made NHRA history by racing each other.
Ashley surprised her father by winning with an elapsed time of 4.779 seconds and a top speed of 510.24 km/hr.
Following her victory, Force advanced to the semi-finals and became the first female to compete in the national series TF/FC final round in October 2007 at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
Sadly, she was defeated by Tony Pedregon on a holeshot.
Ashley appeared to continue her losing run in the early 2008 racing season.
Force lost three consecutive games in Houston, Las Vegas, and Atlanta.
To be clear, Force lost her first final round match of the year on March 30 in Houston to Del Worsham.
Then, in Las Vegas, she upset Tim Wilkerson and became the first female racer in NHRA Funny Car history.
