Premier League junior stars Reece James
REECE JAMES IS ONE OF CHELSEA’S MOST VISIBLE PLAYERS. The 21-year-old forward broke into the first team last year and has already played in England.
His father, Nigel James, and former Wigan manager Paul Cook informed him about his difficult childhood.
His gift came naturally.
Nigel James: “Whenever he was in the garden with his friends or brother, he would sit in his boot and gloves.
” You’d discover him in the net. “They’d be there at nine o’clock in the morning.
” Also, go in for food and drink and then return. “He showed tremendous strength in football.
” He did a lot of things without thinking about them. It was entirely natural.
“From a young age, he struggled to follow directions. However, as long as you let him play normally in his arms.
He’d accomplish stuff and exclaim, “Wow!”
We knew we were gifted
James had his first experience of football after graduating from the Chelsea youth system in 2018 when he joined Wigan Athletic on loan.
“We needed to cover Nathan in the proper location and bring in a young Chelsea youngster,” says Paul Cook.
Who hasn’t played football yet, we believed was a good choice for everyone.”
“No one was willing to give him a shot in the Championship League,” James said.
Rotherham United, Blackburn Rovers, and Wigan Athletic were the only three clubs promoted to League One.
We got in the car and made a few phone calls.
All three wanted to see him and were pleased to take him.
Following that, we traveled to Wigan.
And they simply annihilated us. On the first day, Paul Cook and his entire staff, including the chairman and football director, had a lot of experience with Reece.
It seemed nice and cozy to imagine he’d be the first to travel and would be 200 miles from home.”
“We finished the first day of training,” Cook says. The staff gathered for tea to review how things went.
Furthermore, we all agreed to wait until tomorrow to ensure that what we saw was not a stumbling block.
Reece was a great footballer from the start.
He was amazing in all he did and how he acted. He practiced and played in a certain style.
We rapidly realized that we had exceptional potential on our hands.”
Wigan’s Resurrection of James
JAMES’ STAY IN WIGAN WAS A SUCCESS.
He was named club player of the year and was named to the Championship team of the year.
“Reece was a good boy,” says the cook. He was a decent man. Since he initially came with his father.
To find a spot to work out and speak with me. He simply acted well.
He left a fantastic legacy for everyone with a link to Wigan Athletic.”
His adaptability and willingness to return to Chelsea
James returned to Chelsea and scored in the Carabao Cup for the first time.
Under Frank Lampard’s guidance, he became the Champions League’s youngest scorer and signed a new long-term contract in January 2020.
He could play a variety of roles for the Chelsea club.

Cook: “We were probably moving him a little because he was exceptional in every area.”
We could improve if we had anything we believed was a starting point.
Reece would be our standout player in any position, whether it’s a central defender, a full-back, or a midfielder.
“Looking at his quality and defense range. Furthermore, I believe he is right back, possibly in his finest position for ball delivery.
Reece will play as a midfielder in today’s game, which will be decided by Chelsea, but he will not disappoint anyone if he does. there. ”
“I liked how Cook and his crew positioned Reece in the center of the pitch,” James said.
Not to mention that he was judged prior to the game.
He simply walked into the middle of the pitch without anyone noticing.
You got in there and did a good job. You got the ball and removed it.”

Recognition of England
James’ performance earned him Gareth Southgate’s first England call-up, and he made his international debut in October.
In the second leg of their 3-0 win over Wales, he took the place of Kieran Trippier.
He impressed Southgate and won four caps in his brief spell with England.
A bright future is costing the team money. And the country, despite its fast development, has kept its feet on the ground.
“She’s the same as she was when she was younger,” James says.
She could tell she was quiet and reserved.
She was also focused and knew exactly what she wanted. Reece here.
We have a good friendship. I’ve always been straightforward and truthful.
I also express my emotions.
She has handled the situation admirably.
I simply gave him the rope he needed to mature into a young man.
But I’m by his side, ensuring he makes the proper choices. It’s been going well so far.
I kick all the balls with him as he plays.
I follow him. In terms of Reece, he’s the same.”
