Commentary by Jeff Greenfield on Today’s Political Coverage

On Brian Stelter’s Show on September 30, 2018, Jeff voiced his displeasure with CNN’s anti-Trump panelists.

He didn’t hold back when it came to his thoughts on the network’s political coverage, which featured more punditry and less reporting.

While expressing his skepticism about practically everything he hears, Jeff addressed the claims of sexual assault against Judge Brett Kavanaugh.

While the conversation was initially focused on the potential breadth of an FBI investigation into the case,

it eventually devolved into journalistic ethics.

Jeff also confessed that he didn’t think it was surprising that a significant portion of the press saw itself as a form of resistance while referring to opposition to Donald Trump’s presidential administration.

While correcting Donald Trump’s comments, he hinted at speaking the truth.

Without holding back his criticism of CNN, Jeff stated unequivocally that when he looked at the network,

he only saw panels rather than reporting and exchanging perspectives.

And he didn’t take a step back to remark that the bulk of the network was hostile to Trump in some form.

Concerning Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation,

Jeff claimed that Brian Stelter’s network initially supported the judge’s opponents and that many of its members had already formed a position on the nomination.
