Career in College
Hill chose IUPUI over other big conference institutions that offered scholarships, including Temple and Indiana, in order to be near his ailing great-grandfather Gilbert Edison.
He never got to witness Hill play college basketball because his great-grandfather passed away just a few months after he made the decision to enroll at IUPUI.

Professional Career

Prior to being traded by the Indiana Pacers on June 23, 2011, Hill played his first three NBA seasons with the San Antonio Spurs in exchange for other assets, including the draft rights to Davis Bertans and Kawhi Leonard.
He spent time in San Antonio with Danny Green, his current teammate (Green played for the Spurs from 2010-18).
Prior to being traded to Utah on July 7, 2016, Hill spent the following five seasons with the Pacers in exchange for Taurean Prince’s draft rights.

Injury
Hill left the game against the New Jersey Nets on January 31, 2012, due to an ankle injury. According to the Pacers, there was only a tiny chip fracture.
He missed 12 games due to the injury before playing against the Charlotte Bobcats on February 22.
On April 9, 2012, Pacers head coach Frank Vogel made the announcement that Hill would start in Collison’s place due to an injury.
