He was then promoted to principal anchor and managing editor of Comcast Network’s CN8 News.
At Comcast Network, he hosted the evening newscasts from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
He’s also worked for TV-One on special assignments, including leading live national coverage of Michael Jackson’s memorial from Los Angeles.
Fennell served on the boards of UNITY: Journalists of the NABJ and Color after serving as president of the National Association of Black Journalists.
In 2001, he established The Arthur Funnell Foundation, which focuses on disease treatment, prevention, and education, as well as on underserved groups.
Funnell received almost seventy-five accolades, including the Vanguard Award.
