After being recruited to DOS, a recruiting platform for NXVIM, she was branded with the initials Allison Mack and Keith Raniere. She was also branded with a scorching hot iron just above her crotch.
She was also threatened that if she refused to be branded, NXVIm would release naked photos of her and videotapes of her saying hurtful things about family members.
Sarah revealed in a February 2020 interview with Vancouver Film School that she had undergone surgery to have the brand removed. Her branding story was also featured in several publications, including the New York Times.
In 2017, she managed to flee NXIVM. Sarah also contributed to the cult’s exposure and investigation. As a result, in September 2019, she published a book detailing her escape from the cult.
