Lisa Vicari began taking acting classes at the age of ten
Vicari had other options when the majority of the 10-year-olds were heading to school.
With the goal of “wanting to be in movies,” she persuaded her mother to let her attend weekly acting classes at the age of ten.
In 2009, a year after beginning acting classes, she was cast as Anna in the short film Tunnelblicke.
Following the recognition and appreciation for her work, she landed a few more acting roles, including Hanni & Nanni (2010) and Hell on Wheels (2012).
Her parents and brother supported her passion for acting and opportunities to work in movies back at home.
Her role in the film ‘Hell’ had to be legalized
Vicari’s first major role as Leonie was in the 2011 psychological thriller Hell.
Working on a film with such a sensitive genre at such a young age is unusual, as she would not be allowed to watch such films at that age.
As a result, the film’s production had to obtain approval from the Jugendamt, Germany’s child protection services, for her role as Leonie to ensure she wouldn’t be traumatized.
Vicari was undoubtedly traumatized, but she managed to put on a great show for the audience with her performance.
In 2011, the 5 feet 9 inches (1.75 meters) tall actress received the Best Young Talent award at the New Faces Awards for her role in the film Hell.
‘Dark’ is Lisa Vicari’s first series as a lead actress
Vicari’s role as Martha Nielsen in the German Netflix series Dark has undoubtedly been a career-changing move, garnering international recognition and praise.
The show is also her first opportunity to demonstrate her true potential as a lead actress.
However, it is not true that Vicari had never appeared in a television series, as she had appeared in a few before Dark.
However, in all of those series, she was frequently considered for minor roles that would only last one episode.
Aside from Dark, she has appeared in Under Suspicion (2013), Die Chefin (2014), SOKO 5113 (2016), and Tatort (2017).

She is career-driven
Vicari is even more motivated to explore her career as an actress and appear in different genres of movies and TV shows now that she has a string of successful films and TV shows under her belt.
Specifically, the actress, who names Martin Scorsese and Christopher Nolan among her favorite directors, expressed her desire to be a part of a “period drama” while interacting with SLEEK.
During her interview with GLAMOUR in 2019, she also expressed her willingness to work for her satisfaction, be around her loved ones, and hope to continue doing things that fulfill her.
Vicari added another feather to her cap in July 2020, when she directed her Dark co-star Moritz Jahn’s music video ‘Blue Blue Moon.’
Vanessa Loibl and dancer/actor Kelvin Kilonzo appeared in the music video.
