Vinessa Shaw announced her first pregnancy on Instagram on August 12, 2017.
She shared a photo of the couple with her social media followers, along with the caption, “Good News! We are excited to announce that we will be having a baby in the first few months of 2018!”
A few days later, on August 15, 2017, the Hocus Pocus actress made another pregnancy announcement by sharing a classic Sanderson Sisters quote from her film Hocus Pocus.
The image also included the Sanderson Sisters, played by Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy in the film, as well as a positive pregnancy test and the words, “Winnie, I smell…a child,” beneath the positive pregnancy test.
The actress admitted that she regretted not being able to use the photo for her formal announcement.
She captioned the photo, “Perhaps I should have used this for my pregnancy announcement?? #anythinggoes.”
The actress has been informing her followers about her pregnancy for several months.
“This bun is almost done,” Shaw announced to her fans in early February 2018.
On March 2, 2018, the actress announced on Instagram that she and her husband, Gifford, had given birth to their first child.
On Tuesday, February 20, 2018, she gave birth to a son named Jack Hiroki Gifford.
“After a long labor with many complications, Baby Jack was finally born two and a half weeks after his due date on 2.20.2018 weighing in at 9lbs 9oz,” the Home Sweet Home actress wrote, alongside a cute black and white photo of her holding the newborn’s hand.
