As a result, the two spent the entire trip to Chicago talking.
Perino didn’t want to lose contact with McMahon, so she sent him a business card containing all of her contact information.
She wanted to appear professional, but the major reason was that she didn’t want to appear aggressive by simply offering her phone number.
McMahon emailed her, explaining his thoughts since they first spoke on the plane.
When Perino checked her inbox 10 days later, she discovered the email.
“I spent those ten days unable to eat, sleep, or even read,” she explained.
And then I logged into my computer, and I received his email.”
Initially, the couple had a long-distance relationship. She was in Washington, D.C., and he was in the United Kingdom.
Regardless, they were always in contact by phone.
Finally, they went on their first date in New Orleans, where they spent the weekend together.
They were both delighted to meet each other.
McMahon claimed he “walked around like a teenager on his first date” while waiting for Dana’s flight.
Perino went to him as soon as the jet touched down.
And the rest, as they say, is history.

McMahon proposed to Perino ten/eleven months after they first met, and they had a wonderful married life.
