Jez penned the Tony-nominated play The Ferryman in collaboration with her,

which was inspired in part by her early experiences in Northern Ireland.

Butterworth is a British playwright, screenwriter, and filmmaker who was born in London in March 1969.

He has co-written screenplays with his brothers, John-Henry and Tom.

The director has three brothers, Tom, Steve, and John Henry, and one sister, Joanna.

He attended Verulam Comprehensive School in St. Albans and St. John’s College in Cambridge.

All of the brothers have experience working in theater and movies.

Steve is a producer, while Tom and John Henry are authors.

Butterworth’s play Mojo, which opened in 1995, won the Laurence Olivier,

Evening Standard, Writers Guild, George Devine, and Critics’ Circle Awards in 1996.

Butterworth’s The Ferryman premiered at the Royal Court Theatre in April 2017.

Under Sam Mendes’ direction, it became the play with the fastest sales in the Royal Court Theatre’s history.

The play won the Evening Standard Award for Best Play in 2017 and the Critics’ Circle Award for Best New Play in 2018.

It also received the 2019 Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Play as well as the Tony Award for Best Play.

Laura Donnelly began dating Nathan Connolly, an Irish musician who

played guitar and sang backup for the well-known alternative rock band Snow Patrol, in the late 1990s.

Donnelly was cited as saying that she couldn’t spend her life with someone

who didn’t have an artistic background and didn’t understand

and respect her job throughout their long relationship.

According to the Belfast Telegraph, Donnelly and Connolly dated at least until 2013.

In a 2015 interview with the Independent, Donnelly revealed that her relationship with

Connolly had ended and she was seeing someone new, who also happened to be a writer.

She went on to say how nice it was to be with someone who was familiar with

the lives of performers, referring to her present partner, Jeremy Butterworth.
