Who is Roberto Clemente?

Roberto Clemente was a professional Puerto Rican baseball player who is widely recognized as one of the best players of all time.

Roberto Clemente was one of the only handful of players in history to achieve the 3000-hit plateau, having earned various trophies, including the Most Valuable Player Award.

He became the first Latin American and Caribbean player to be inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1973.

But his death on December 31, 1972, took everyone by surprise.

After appearing in 15 All-Star Games, Roberto Clemente was an All-Star for 13 seasons.

He was named the National League’s (NL) Most Valuable Player (MVP) in 1966, and he led the league in batting in 1961, 1964, 1965, and 1967.

He became more popular after winning the Gold Glove Award for 12 straight seasons.
